Is this your first tan, or are you prone to allergic reactions?  Then it is recommended to have a patch test 24-48/ hours prior to the appointment. 

If having a spray tan it is highly recommended to exfoliate the day before your treatment. 

Wax or shave at least 24 hours prior to your tan. 

Do not wear deodorant, perfume, make up or jewellery to your tan appointment. 

Do not use any other self tanning products at least 1 week prior to any of our tans. 

If you are pregnant, we require a letter from your GP to confirm that the treatment is safe to carry out. 

Any breast feeding clients, please advise.  We will use the Express Tan for your treatment as the colour guide can be removed after one hour. 

Do have a shower, but please refrain from using products with oils and moisturisers in, as these can act as a barrier and prevent the tan from developing. 

If you are not wearing nail polish, it is recommended to apply a clear base coat to protect the nails. 

Wear loose, dark clothing, and if you do not wish to wear one of our disposable G-strings, a dark bikini bottom or underwear. Tight clothing can cause the tan to rub off before it has developed properly. 

Bring flip flops along to the appointment for after the treatment.  This is to stop socks/tights rubbing off the tan after the treatment before it has fully developed. 

Bring an umbrella with you, just in case it starts raining. 

You will be asked after the treatment to sit for 10 mins in the robe before getting dressed. 

You may notice some areas are darker than others, this is the colour guide and will not affect the overall look of the than, this is where the product has overlapped during the application process. 

Consider going commando! You want to avoid anything touching the skin that can cause the tan to rub off. If you need to wear a bra, we recommend a strapless or bandeau style.

Stay dry - be careful when washing hands, and consider avoiding that shower for the duration of the developing time. This also includes anything that is going to make you sweat, no heat treatments, no swimming, and no products. 

No touching.  Your tan may transfer when it is still developing or rub off completely. 

Moisturise and exfoliate (after day 3) regularly in the days following the tan, so when it starts to wear off it will do so evenly. 

Tap dry - avoid rubbing the skin with a towel as this will act as an exfoliant, and rub all that gorgeous colour off. 

Your tan can last between 5-10 days depending on how you look after the tan, and your skin complexion. Use an oil free moisturiser to keep your skin looking healthy - we offer packs with products which will help in keeping your tan looking fresh and gorgeous for longer. 

Avoid harsh chemicals 

Medication:

Certain medications can change the pH levels of the skin, and can affect how the tan develops and its longevity. 

Allergies- if you are prone to reactions, we will request a patch test is completed at least 48 hours prior to the treatment.

Open Cuts or Wounds

The tan will not be applied to these areas. 

Skin Conditions - The tan can cling onto these areas, and deliver an uneven result.  If you suffer with these conditions, please consider booking in for a consultation appointment, so we can discuss the best course of action. 

Vitiligo - Tan may not take in pale areas. 

Bleached Hair or Eyebrows - please advise the therapist prior to the appointment.  A turban will be supplied to protect the hair in every appointment.  For brows we can protect with moisturiser. 

Holidays- Are you having this tan done to go on holiday? Perfect, having a tan can enhance that pre holiday feeling, and give you added confidence. 

Please do note that excess swimming, exposure to chlorine or swimming in the sea can reduce the longevity of the tan. 

It is advised to bring along a similar style bikini bottom if you do not wish to wear one of our disposable ones, so we can make sure your tan is bikini ready! 

We offer a gradual tan for retail after having the tan applied, this will help to keep the tan topped up whilst you are on holiday and when you return - Just note that they do not contain an SPF, so this should still be applied to ensure sun safety.

Bridal Tanning - Is this tan for your special day?  Firstly congratulations!! One of the things we love is helping people look and feel amazing on their big day!

It is recommended to have a trial before hand, to make sure that you are happy with the colour first, it is not too dark or too light!  Once the trial session has taken place and you are happy with the colour, we would recommend having the pre event session done 3-4 days prior to the day itself. This helps to ensure it is not rubbed off when you are running around getting things ready the day before, and that there is no transfer onto the dress on the day itself.
