* requires a patch test 48 hours prior to appointment. Will need a new patch test if you have started new medication, or new vaccinations as these can affect your tolerance to certain products used. Please note that patch tests are valid for 6 months. After this time has lapsed a new patch test is required. This is for your safety and a requirement for Riniel's Body and Beauty and their insurance. Failure to have a patch test will result in treatment being cancelled, and potentially liable to a cancellation fee.

The Importance of Patch Testing

Riniel's Body and Beauty Beauty Salon

Always book your patch test.  Over time our sensitivities and tolerances may change, so whether you are a new client to us, or it has been over 6 months since your last appointment/patch test, you will be required to have another one.

It is also advised to have another patch test if any of the following apply:

  • Change in medication
  • New vaccinations
  • Hormonal changes
  • Newly developed or a change in skin sensitivities
  • There is a change in products used, or an ingredient change
  • You have had a tattoo since your last appointment
  • You have had a reaction for another form of chemical or hair dye in the past
  • Recently been ill, there has been an increase in allergic reactions post Covid 19.

Please note that allergies can develop overtime, whilst it might seem like an inconvenience to have one done, when there have been no issues before, these patch tests are for your safety, and are a requirement of the salons insurance and policies and procedures. It is also a legal requirement for your patch test to always be up to date

Failure to have a patch test done prior to treatment will result in you being declined the treatment, and a cancellation charge may be applicable.  Our booking system will notify you if you require a patch test when booking your appointment.  If in doubt please contact us regarding the patch test. Please do not ask us to bend the rules and make an exception for you./  We have this a lot and the answer will always be no!

The patch test will be performed in the crease of your elbow.  This will allow you top observe any changes in skin colour, tone, reactions easily. If a reaction does occur, please cleanse the area - should a reaction continue it is advised to speak to a pharmacy or a GP.  You will also be required to notify the salon.

The Patch tests are done no later than 48 hours prior to your treatment. As you can see patch tests are extremely important and taken seriously here.  Please don't arrange a hair or beauty treatment at any salon or stylist who do not insist on a patch test.  As well as breaking the law, they are also putting your health at risk.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in contact.

Beauty Captured: A Showcase of Our Salon's Transformations

Our Top Tips for the Perfect Treatment

    Arrive with a clear face.

Before any tinting, lifting or lamination appointment, it is best that you arrive with no make up, creams or oils on the face/eye area.

Whilst the areas are cleansed prior to treatment, this ensures that the treatment will be success, and time is not taken away by needing to remove these.

Steer clear of oil based cleansers.

    Contact Lens Wearers

Please remove contacts prior to the treatment, and remember to bring your glasses with you.

    No lash curling

We want to see your lashes in their natural state, this is particularly important with lash lifting appointments.

    Wear comfortable clothing

You will be laying down on our heated couch, however for maximum comfort, ensure that you arrive in clothing you know you can lay down in for a while.

    Avoid caffeine

Caffeine can cause increased sensitivity in the body, but can also cause the eyes to twitch.

    Turn off your notifications!

Particularly important for those with smart watches.

You want to relax during your appointment, and you will not be able to open your eyes for the duration, so turn them off, switch off and relax.

    Do yourself care prior

One of the aftercare for lash and brow appointments is not to get the area wet for 24-48 hours, or get in contact with steam.

Ensure any hair washing, showering or bathing is done prior to the appointment so you do not run the risk of the treatment being effected.

    Dont wear bulky jewelry

You will be laying down for a while, and some treatments will require either a headband, or a hair net applied.  We do not want to risk these getting caught, or you becoming uncomfortable during your appointment.

Aftercare for Lash and Brow Treatments

    Do not get them wet!

Remember Gremlins?  Take this on board after your lash or brow treatment.  No it will not create little gremlins, but it will effect the results of your treatment, and can undo the treatment altogether.

    No touching!

No touching, or manipulating the area -0 such as rubbing the eyes, using eyelash curlers - as this will affect the overall result.

    Sleep carefully!

Be mindful how you sleep. Your brows and lashes are delicate and still getting used to their new shape post treatment for 24 hours.

This is particularly important for side and front sleepers, whilst it may be tricky it is important that no pressure is placed on the brow or lashes post treatment.

    Do not apply any products.

For the first 24 hours please do not place anything on the brows or lashes.  Such as mascara, eye creams, brow pomade.

    Avoid heat or steam

Same as getting the areas wet.  Avoid steam, sauna's sun beds, strong sunlight.  This includes cooking - you may have be extra careful to not lean over steamy cooking - delegate to someone else or have a cheeky takeout.

    Follow the at home recommendations

There are products which have been created to enhance, and prolong your treatment effects.  Your therapist will advise you on these.

    Timing

Think about when you are going to having these treatments done.

The timings for these treatments are very precise and treatments cannot be rushed.  Equally haver a read through the tips and aftercare, especially if you are having these treatments for a special occasion or holiday.

It is recommended to have these treatments in 6-8 week intervals.

    Follow the Aftercare

The aftercare is there to ensure that you enjoy your treatment and its results.

Failure to do so could lead to adverse effects.  If redness, swelling and irritation occurs please apply a cold compress.  If  symptoms persist please consult a medical practitioner.
