This might sound like a weird one, however it is best to arrive to your facial with nothing on the skin, including make up and products.
In order to give you the best results, and the treatment most suited to your skin, we want to see the skin in it's natural state. It also allows us on focusing on the skins needs, not removing layers of waterproof mascara - which eats up into your treatment time.
Most facials require you to at least remove your top so the therapist can access your shoulders, however you are going to be laying down for some time, you want to be comfy whilst doing so.
If you are attending an evening appointment, feel free to arrive in your pyjama's, that way you can head straight to bed once your treatment has finished.
What has prompted you to book your facial, have you been feeling dry/oily/sensitive? These are all questions your therapist will ask you prior to your facial, and this helps your therapist tailor your treatment to your individual needs.
This is particularly important if you are having a Dermplaning or Glycopeel facial.
Over exfoliation can cause the skin to be extra sensitive. Let us do the hard graft, and you will love the results.
Similar to waxing, you want to avoid the risk of being burnt. Not only as an everyday skin concern, but the skin will react differently when having the facial done, and the results will not be as effective.
Like with the clothing we want you to be comfortable. We also do not want to risk catching any jewellery on headbands, hair coverings, towels or mitts.
In addition some jewellery can react with products used, become dull so best to remove, and leave off for the duration.
We want you to relax - so put on that do not disturb, and enjoy your treatment. Especially those who wear smartwatches.
Breakouts following a facial are completely normal - so keep this in mind when booking in - especially before a big event.
The skin is going to stimulated in a way it isn't normally. Different products can be a wake up for the skin and the skin cells encouraging all those clogged pores and bacteria to come to the surface of the skin and be removed.
Unsure what treatment is best for you? Book in for a complimentary consultation where we will talk through your skincare concerns, and which treatment will be the best one for you.
After your facial avoid heat treatments such as hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds etc.
It is also advised to be mindful with cooking that you are not placing your treated skin directly over streaming cooking.
This is particularly important if you have had Dermaplaning or Glycolic Facials. The skin has already been professionally exfoliated during the treatment, leave it be for 72 hours after the treatment.
Drinking water has amazing benefits for the skin, hair and nails as well as overall body benefits. In turn be mindful of your diet - what goes in will come out, and in a lot of cases will come out as break outs, excess sebum or dryness.
Anything that touches your face on a regular basis. This includes pillow cases, mobile phones, telephones and headsets, and even your glasses frames.
Make up, sweat, dirt will gather on these items and in turn will transfer onto the skin.
Certain facials will have more in-depth aftercare due to the nature of the treatment, aftercare may include using an SPF50 on the face for at least a week after the treatment. This is for your skin sensitivity and ensuring you do have an adverse reaction.
