Riniel's Body and Beauty do not remove work which has not been applied by them.  We ask that you arrive with no product on your nails, so no time is wasted during your appointment for removal. 

If you have work left on which has been applied for us, then please do book a removal alongside your appointment so that the correct time is allocated. 

We advise that you take the time to read the differences between the treatment options, to book the right ones for you, do you want express, a hand treat - or the ultimate pampering!  

Any additionals you would like to your treatment will need to be booked alongside, such as removal (of work done by us), nail art, french finish,  heated mitts and booties.  If these havent been booked the therapist may not have enough time to create the finalised look you are after. 

Please take on board how long your appointment is booked for.  Gel nails need to be correctly cured, for the right amount of time.  Your therapist will not be able to rush the treatment, so please bear this in mind if booking something after your appointment. 

We appreciate you choosing Riniel's Body and Beauty for your Gel appointment, and we recognise for some you may wish to have a full on conversation, or for others you may just want to chill.  Once we have completed the consultation and established the colours and finish, your therapist will keep conversation to a minimum if you wish to have a quiet appointment, equally we love a good chat if you want to talk our ears off, set the world to rights or have a good old rant about life!   

If at any point during your treatment you have changed your mind about colour, or unsure about the colour which has been applied, please do let us know - before the gel has cured.  Then we can have a look at a different colour and change it. 

Coming in for your appointment is a great opportunity to have some phone downtime!  We ask that you keep phone usage to a minimum when we are doing your gels.  This minimises the chance of dust and fluff adhering to the gel, shaking the hands when painting or applying intricate nail art, and most importantly enhances your relaxation time. 

That said we do love looking at what ideas you have for nail art, so either feel free to message your ideas ahead, or have them ready on your phone for during the consultation time. 

Stop biting or picking your nails.  We appreciate that this nervous habit is incredibly difficult to stop, but your manicure will be worth it! 

Biting and picking can weaken the nail, and increases the risk of infection in the nail bed.  It can also cause weak and thinning nails, which can cause the gel not to adhere properly and peel, but can be sore when applying nail product.

If you have a weaker nail plate, it ay be worth considering a Strengthen and Shield Sculpting Gel to add an increased strength and layer, whilst still nourishing the nail plate. We also offer treatment base coats which you could use on the nail plate in the weeks leading to your appointment.  If this is the case, then please do not hesitate to get in contact with us. 

If the nail is quite damaged/unwell, we may suggest that the treatment is not suitable at this time and seek medical advise to treat.

Oil those cuticles.  Those that have been with us for a while will hear us asking about cuticle oil!  Applying a cuticle oil can help to soften the skin around the nail, and giving you a healthy and hydrated nail plate. 

It is recommended to use a cuticle oil after your gel appointment for the same reason. If the nail plate is dehydrated, the gel will not last as long - think if cuticle oil as an investment in your nails! If you struggle to apply regularly, then our best tip is to place the cuticle oil somewhere where you can see if every day, and remind you to put it on - best time is to add it to your nighttime routines. 

Use gloves when cleaning - or even better delegate the task to someone else! 

Chemicals can cause damage to gel, which can cause it to weaken, chip and peel, as well as causing damage to your natural nail. 

Chemicals can also cause the hands to become dehydrated, as can extreme heat on the area.
